Clodagh & Wool Cult
Clodagh is the textile artist behind Wool Cult. Specialising in knit, crochet and weave, I make pieces that straddle visual art and usability that have won awards from the Design and Craft Council of Ireland and the Institute of Designers Ireland.
My work delves into the connection of humans with nature on all levels of biology, history and spirituality. A combination of tactile stitch techniques, such as Organic Cabling, alongside imagery, poetry and handwriting ensures the story behind each piece is consciously at the forefront of its design.
Using only natural fibres, Wool Cult textiles are made to be admired and thought-provoking, while also maintaining the desire to be used and passed down through generations.
Knitting, crocheting, weaving and all things constructed textiles have been my passion for nearly as long as I can remember. Starting in primary school knitting with other students’ grannies, I completed my BA(Hons) in Textile Design from the National College of Art and Design in 2025.
